“squish”

“As I was trying to figure out concepts for this mural, I had trouble figuring out what would fit within such a long rectangular composition. Then I one night I realized that cats have no trouble fitting their large bodies inside small cardboard boxes! So I was inspired by that idea and decided to draw cats fitting in awkward and small areas. Cats like to fit themselves into tight corners because they feel safe inside these four walls, just like what these jersery barriers are for! These barriers help protect pedestrians and drivers from accidents and promote safety within the city.”
